Children skate sizes are the same as their shoes. The skating industry has used the term juvenile sizes to refer to toddler sizes, they are the same. There is a juvenile (toddler) measurement, J1 to J13 and an adult measurement, 1 to 13. Once a child crosses over from toddler sizes into a size 1, they are in the adult measurements. A child that wears size 5, wears the same size as an adult five. There is no relation to age and shoe size in children. Be sure to use a current measurement and then go up one size.
When buying skates for a growing child, your child will probably outgrow the skates before the skates wear out, so the most expensive kids skate is not always the best choice
