Here are some tips to help you to order the correct size skates.
Recreational or Artistic Skates
Recreational or Artistic skates come in Black (mens sizes) and White (ladies sizes) These skates are true to size. When ordering, adults should order your current shoe size. For growing children we recommend going to the next size up as they can grow into the skates and use them longer. Most of these skates are in whole sizes only. If you are a half size we recommend going up to the next full size. For example, a size 7.5 would order an 8. In this case if the skates are a little big you can wear thicker socks and lace them tight.
If a lady wishes to have a black boot she must go down one size as all balck boots are in mens sizes.
Speed Skates
Speed skates (low cut boots)are sized in mens sizes only. Black skates or white skates are both in mens sizes. Ladies should go down one size even if they are ordering white skates. Once again, if you are a half size we recommend going up a size. In this case if the skates are a little big you can wear thicker socks and lace them tight.
Children Skates
Children skate sizes are the same as their shoes. The skating industry has used the term juvenile sizes to refer to toddler sizes, they are the same. There is a juvenile (toddler) measurement, J1 to J13 and an adult Measurement, 1 to 13. Once a child crosses over into a size 1, they are in the adult measurements A child that wears size 5, wears the same size as an adult five. There is no relation to age and shoe size in children. Be sure to use a current measurement and then go up one size.
